The kind of song you write when you are 16 and the Beatles rule!

“Why’d it Have to be Me?” The first song I wrote from 1964. Re-vamped many years later (2023) with Don Newman (lead vocal, rhythm guitar), Kevin Zibell (backing vocal, bass), Owen Zibell (lead guitar, backing vocals).

Men of the Murray

“Men of the Murray” (K. Zibell, 2024). Stimulated by seeing an old photo of 3 men beside the river and wondering what their story was

“Queen Louise”, K. Zibell 2023. With Don on rhythm guitar and Noycey harmonica. Inspired by newspaper reports of a riot in Red Cliffs in the 1930’s, said to be led by a woman calling herself “the Queen of the Red Cliffs riot”

“Hotel Wintersun”, (K. Zibell) reminiscing about growing up in Mildura and the way some landmarks have changed. Thanks to Ivan Centinich (sax), Geoff Dea (trumpet), John Dea (trombone) and Don Newman (guitar). I play bass and sing.
